Right out of the box, ASUS Router detects your new hardware and gets it set up. full access to its settings through the ASUS Router mobile app is a real time-saver. If I read their request correctly - this is the answer. The ASUS ZenWiFi AX Hybrid puts WiFi 6 front and center for next-gen wireless performance. 9 this will edit the pihole dns upstream server to be quad 9 default - DNS2149 - Set Use Conditional Forwarding in the Advanced. The 192.168.4.X scope of the eero is behind NAT, so the vr600 has no way of seeing that network. Tap on Advanced Pihole + pihole-FTL is running, it shows connections, but just by localhost and firewalla Ref forwarding is a technique for automatically passing a ref through a component to one of its children. My reasoning for not wanting to put eero first is that I'd like to support IPv6, and it appears Eero can't do that fully (could that be implemented as a firmware patch in the future?).Īlso, I tried to put the eeros in bridge mode but that made things significantly slower for some reason, so the eeros are in router mode (still seems to work fine!). Since the eero gateway is a client of the vr600, you want to put the 192.168.1.100 IP in its DMZ. This *seems* to work fine, so I have to wonder why the docs are so explicit that the eero has the be the first thing connected. ![]() I also have the 2nd eero plugged into the router as well (via a MoCA bridge). I have a router plugged into my Ethernet jack, and then the eero (and other devices) plugged into the router. Linksys bid its time before jumping into the consumer mesh Wi-Fi router market, watching Eero, Luma, Netgear, and Google wade in with new products in 2016. The documentation says that the eero needs to be the "first" device plugged into you Ethernet jack (or modem, I guess), but it doesn't really say why that's the case.
